The virtual conference, scheduled for June 15-17, 2021, will discuss the changing role of consumers in the midst of ongoing digital transformation, as well as the future of consumer policy at domestic and global levels. Leading experts from government, business, civil society and academia will help shape a vision for consumer policy that empowers, protects, and promotes the welfare of consumers. The rise of mobile and hyper-connected consumers, the developments in consumer product safety, and consumers in the green economy are among the topics that will be addressed.
The conference will also be the opportunity to celebrate 50 years of consumer policy at the OECD, of which Canada has been a member since 1960. There is no cost to attend and interested parties may find the detailed agenda and register at oe.cd/consumer2021.
